Mandy Barnett

As a member of the Grand Ole Opry, Mandy Barnett, has become one of Nashville’s enduring musical treasures, showcasing her mesmerizing voice on stages across the globe. Her style is rooted in the timeless sounds and songs of classic country and pop, and in the crooning of iconic singers. She delves into a song with a keen interpretive sense, getting right down to its emotional core and rendering a powerhouse performance through her “pipes of steel” (Los Angeles Times). As one record executive put it, “Mandy Barnett is a song’s best friend.”

SWEET DREAMS

Barnett first gained national prominence as the original star of one of the first “jukebox” musicals, Always...Patsy Cline at Nashville's famed Ryman Auditorium. Barnett, as Cline, is featured on the original cast soundtrack album and is the only actress to have played the role on the historic Ryman stage where Cline’s legend began.

Patsy Cline

Patsy Cline, the most popular female country singer in recording history, was elevated to icon status after her tragic dealth in a plane crash at age thirty in 1963. She was the first solo female artist elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame, and has since inspired scores of singers, including k.d. lang, Loretta Lynn, Linda Ronstadt, Trisha Yearwood, and Wynonna Judd. Frequently invoked as a standard for female vocalists, her brief career produced “Crazy,” the #1 jukebox hit of all time, written by Willie Nelson, and her unique crying style and vocal impeccability established her reputation as the quintessential torch singer.
